The State Institute of Training (IECA) held the event “Weaving Dreams: Awarding Certificates to Women Who Transform Their Lives,” where the effort and dedication of women who have completed training programs focused on self-employment and personal development were recognized.

At this ceremony, certificates were awarded to 16 women, who represent more than 500 beneficiaries from communities in the municipalities of Comonfort and Juventino Rosas, impacted through training programs promoted with the company SINDA.

This effort is part of the vision of the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, which promotes training as a tool to transform lives, strengthen the local economy, and create opportunities for those who need it most.

Salomon Ceballos Ochoa, General Director of IECA, said: “It is a source of pride for us to work with companies like SINDA, because this is a company that doesn’t just come for the sake of business; it comes to make a difference in the surrounding communities, in the region, so that people can move forward, so that people can grow, so that they can have an income, so that the whole family can grow in the region.”

Lourdes McPherson Hernandez, Director of Social Development at SINDA, said: “I was just telling the director of IECA, do you know what the difference is between the State Institute of Training in Guanajuato and other institutes: the closeness and warmth of the people who work there. These communities, full of history, effort, and hope, from SINDA we are committed to eliminating barriers. That’s why we provide support with materials, instructors, and scholarships, especially for mothers facing additional challenges.”

In coordination with IECA, this effort translates into concrete results that not only benefit the participants, but also strengthen the social fabric and economy of their communities.

Thanks to this initiative, 2,458 certificates were awarded between 2022 and 2025, with 1,274 women benefiting from 69 courses in 2025 alone. So far in 2026, 55 certificates have already been awarded, with continued growth projected.

“For many of us, it has been as valuable as any other learning experience, because here we not only learned to make bags or pastries, we learned something much deeper, we learned to believe in ourselves,” said Maria Elena Garcia Anaya, a beneficiary of the Training Program.

The courses taught cover key areas for self-employment, such as:

  • Baking, pastry making, crafting, textiles, plumbing and tools for entrepreneurship, allowing the beneficiaries to improve their quality of life and contribute to the economic development of their communities
