A total of 1,716 graduates of the online academic programs for high school, bachelor’s, engineering and master’s degrees celebrated on December 1 the completion of their major at the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato –UVEG-.
Representing the Secretary of Education, Jorge Enrique Hernandez , the Undersecretary of Higher and Mid Higher Education, Aldelmo Emmanuel Israel Reyes Pablo issued the protest ceremony and addressed the community of graduates in a message of recognition for their efforts:
“There are many moments that you will remember with affection, but in the same way the difficult moments will be remembered because they responded to the ethics, commitment and responsibility that are demanded today. UVEG since its creation has set itself the goal of being the best and making a change. Today we see materialized the result of the hours of work that we dedicate all the time. It is not easy to finish a high-performance program while attending to work activities and, of course, family activities”, said Reyes Pablo.
In this regard, the head of the UVEG, Ricardo Narvaez Martinez, celebrated the achievements of this generation of graduates, reiterating the institution’s commitment to education:
“Today an objective is culminated, today we see the work of a university done, which is that students finish their studies, the truth is that it is a pride to have you here, it is an honor for all of us who make up this institution to see so many talents gathered, to know that they are from several States of the Republic, because Mexico needs prepared people, and you are part of this greatness”, said Narvaez Martinez.
In the event, recognition was given to 8 honorable emblem graduates, highlighting the testimonies of two of them regarding their experience.
“I dedicated all my time and energy to finishing something that I cared about and that I knew I was looking forward to, if I had been successful in other things I probably would not have found the strength and perseverance to succeed in the field where I felt I belonged and to which today with pride I belong. I urge each one of you not to stop watching the sunshine, all there is is what we are doing at this moment”, said Ulises Rodriguez Mercado a graduate from the Master of Education with a Focus on Online Education.
“These 2 years are a conscious period of investments and sacrifices, since we all had to invest time for reading, research, understanding and do activities, which generated great satisfaction and intellectual development, but all this was accompanied by sacrificing moments that we used to share with our loved ones”, said Claudia Eugenia Pena Sanchez, graduate of a Master’s in Strategic Administration.
Recently awarded the Zukunft prize from Hannover Messe, UVEG remains at the educational forefront, encouraging students to close the digital divide, both in Guanajuato and in our Country and even internationally.
