Behind every steering Wheel there is a story of hard work, punctuality, and service. Taxi Driver’s Day, a date that in Guanajuato represents not only a professional tradition but also recognition of a fundamental pillar of mobility and economic dynamism in the Guanajuatense municipalities.
Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director of Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, said that the stability of the sector depends directly on access to opportunities that allow drivers to be masters of their own destiny.
Ivon noted that under the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, institutional support becomes the fuel that allows fleet renewal and strengthens family assets by offering strategic and accessible credit alternatives.
“At Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, we understand that behind every loan there is a life project and families seeking to move on,” said Ivon Padilla.
“Our mission is clear: to provide the support and appropriate conditions so that they can improve their units and strengthen their daily work. We firmly believe in the talent of our people, and we work shoulder to shoulder to ensure that transportation in Guanajuato is a benchmark of quality and trust for everyone,” said the Official.
Padilla reported in this commemoration that, to date, in Tu Puedes Guanajuato, more than 74 credits of the “Renueva tu Taxi” financing have been granted, for an amount exceeding 22.8 million pesos, with which many unit operators improve their service and perform it with greater safety.
“When I got home from school, I’d drop off my backpack and my stuff, grab the car keys and off we go! Just a little while outside to earn money to keep studying and help out at home with expenses,” said Jorge Saavedra originally from Leon and a taxi driver.
Jorge, like many other colleagues in his profession, recently had the opportunity to trade in his work vehicle for a newer one. He said that he learned that the People’s Government had a special loan for “friends of the wheel” and decided to find out more.
“I’m very happy to be able to drive a brand new car. At Tu Puedes Guanajuato they have a loan program called Renew Your Taxi. I went there and the staff told me how to apply to get this new car, and that was it,” said Jorge.
This financing has a fixed annual interest rate of 12 percent, a payment term of up to 60 months, a grace period of up to 3 months, and a 2 percent interest rate incentive for on-time payment, among other benefits.
With adequate financial backing, the state is preparing to honor the men and women who, day after day, keep Guanajuato in constant growth and movement.
