Street Art arrives in Jalpa de Canovas

Purisima del Rincon boosts local talent with giant soccer ball exhibit in Jalpa de Canovas

After capturing the attention of hundreds of visitors in the City, the exhibit “6 Giant Soccer Balls” has arrived in the Magic Town of Jalpa de Canovas. Starting July 16, residents and tourists can enjoy this display in the Main Plaza.

The exhibit features six monumental soccer ball sculptures artistically designed by children and Young Purisimenses. Each piece reflects the cultural, historical, tourist, and natural wealth that defines the municipality.

The project brought together students from the House of Culture, TEC Purisima, and CETAC, along with Young artists from Jalpa de Canovas and Canada de Negros. Parisiense, an artist, also designed one of the pieces, contributing her talent and creativity to enrich this collective showcase.

Each ball represents iconic elements of Purisima del Rincon, such as its landscapes, architecture, traditions, cultural heritage, and tourist attractions, turning the plaza into an open-air gallery that invites visitors to discover the municipality’s identity through art.

Roberto Camargo, Director of Tourism of Purisima del Rincon, noted that these efforts, driven by the Tourism Department, aim to encourage local participation in projects that strengthen municipal tourism and culture.

“We want our citizens to be protagonists in the tourism development of Purisima del Rincon. Through initiatives like this, we strengthen the sense of belonging, boost local talent, and create experiences that enrich the tourism offer of our destinations,” Camargo said.

The official highlighted the commitment of Municipal President Roberto Garcia Urbano to continue promoting actions that integrate citizens into the development of the tourism and cultural sectors, creating spaces where art, identity, and social participation contribute to community growth.

The exhibit is part of a strategy to diversify the municipality’s tourist attractions, strengthen cultural tourism, and provide new experiences for those visiting Jalpa de Canovas, which is internationally recognized as Best Tourism Village by UN Tourism.

The Municipal Government invites families and visitors to explore this artistic display, discover the talent of young Purisimenses, and take advantage of their visit to enjoy the gastronomy, history, and hospitality offered by the Magic Town of Jalpa de Canovas.

The 6 Giant Soccer Balls will remain on display in the Main Plaza of Jalpa de Canovas, adding yet another attraction for those looking to enjoy a unique experience in Purisima del Rincon.
