The Government of Guanajuato, through the Secretary of Migrants and International Affairs –SMEI-, collaborates and supports the identification, safeguarding and safe repatriation of Guanajuato residents located in Israel.
Under instructions of the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, the SMEI collaborates with the Secretary of National Defense –SEDENA-, Secretariat of Foreign Relations –SRE- and the Embassy of Mexico in Israel, to guarantee the integrity of the Guanajuato residents who remain in the conflict zone.
SMEI personnel had communication with the Mexican Embassy in Israel, and reported that two Mexican Army planes left from Santa Lucia, Mexico to repatriate as many Mexicans as possible of the 500 that are currently registered by the federal authorities.
The Government of Guanajuato remains attentive to the call from Guanajuato residents who request support to be repatriated and safeguard their integrity, said Susana Guerra Vallejo, head of the Secretary of Migrant and International Affairs.
So far there is a record of a family from Guanajuato made up of five members (father, mother and three minor children) who were on vacation in Jerusalem, Israel.
According to the communication that SMEI personnel had with these Guanajuato residents, their flight was canceled and they are waiting for the flight that the Secretary of National Defense sent to the city of Tel Aviv to be able to return home.
The family is sheltered in an apartment and requested support for their repatriation. Federal authorities reported that they are doing an online registration for Mexicans who are in Israel, and that the logistics of their return are still in process.
