With an exceptional culinary showcase and a vibrant family atmosphere, Purisima del Rincon slow-cooked the 8th edition of the “Purisima de Mil Sabores” Gastronomic Fair from start to finish.

This event solidifies Purisima del Rincon as a top destination for tourism and tradition in the State of Guanajuato, delivering a flawlessly fresh experience with highly personalized organization.

This edition gathered 68 local exhibitors who committed to deliver a top-tier experience for local tourists, visitors, and travelers from other Mexican states, generating a significant economic boost for the local community.

The event was led by Mayor Roberto Garcia Urbano, with David Ayala Saucedo, Undersecretary of Identity and Development of the Secretary of Tourism. They were joined by commissioned councilman Salvador Cruz Villegas, Purisima del Rincon Tourism Director Roberto Camargo Perez, and traditional cook Trinidad Lopez Collazo, who expressed gratitude on behalf of all participants.

Trinidad transported attendees into a world where aromas capture the very essence of being a “purisimense.” While kitchens have changed hands over time and cooking techniques have evolved, the love for the family keeps the flame alive to prepare both traditional dishes and new flavors for every palate.

Roberto Garcia Urbano reaffirmed that Purisima’s gastronomy stands as a major tourism flagship. Having already hosted the Agave and Roots Fair, followed now by Purisima de Mil Sabores, the upcoming Walnut and Quince Festival in Jalpa proves it is impossible to stay away from Purisima del Rincon.

On behalf of the authorities, David Ayala Saucedo extended a special recognition to over 60 traditional cooks from Guanajuato, praising them as the guardians of recipes passed down through generations. He also celebrated the inclusion of young cooks and children in these processes, ensuring the preservation and generational handover of this cuisine made with love.

The Mayor of Purisima del Rincon thanked the State Government and the Secretary of Tourism and Identity for their support, noting that this festival fulfills a dual purpose: positioning the municipality on the national tourism and gastronomic map, while fostering social cohesion, community identity, and the peaceful atmosphere that defines the town.

Through high-quality events like “Purisima de Mil Sabores,” both the municipality and the State of Guanajuato demonstrate that their cultural wealth, history, and the warm spirit of their people remain more alive than ever, said David Ayala Saucedo.

For the first time in the history of the festival, the Career Merit Award was presented, a distinction honoring the dedication, hard work, and contribution of those who have strengthened the gastronomy and identity of the Municipality for one to four generations.
