The Italian company is increasing its yearly production to 7.2 million tires

Governor of Guanajuato Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo and Pirelli’s CEO Marco Tronchetti, announced an investment of US$36 million dollars to increase their anual production to 7.2 million tires in its plant at Silao.
A complete investment
Pirelli increases its investment in Guanajuato to 750 million dollars since they first opened their plant, and they will create 450 more jobs both direct and indirect, the company will buy new automated machinery and they will use and adopt cutting edge technology.
After a reunion with directors of Pirelli, Governor Rodriguez Vallejo said that Pirelli will build a new Investigation, Development, Innovation and Professional Formation Center, with an investment of US$13.5 million dollars.
Benefit for Guanajuatenses
The Governor said that he is glad and really satisfied with these two announcements by the company because they will create jobs for Guanajuatense youngsters as well as growth for those who want to improve their career in an international company and it is also a business opportunity for local companies, which indirectly will create new jobs.
The improved production capacity of the Pirelli plant in Silao will satisfy the demand created by electric vehicles in the North American market.
An important, ideal place
The new investment, said the Governor, confirms the importance of Mexico, and particularly Guanajuato, in the international operations of Pirelli to supply the North American market.
The additional tires that will be produced in the Plant in Silao are mainly to supply the demand of electric vehicles, for the brands Tesla and Lucid Motors.
A global company
Pirelli is one of the biggest producers of tires in the world. They are in more than 160 countries, they have 20 factories in the world and they employ some 37 thousand people.
Guanajuato and Pirelli have an important relation since 2012, when the tire production plant was inaugurated in Guanajuato Puerto interior.
Guanajuato, thanks to its strategic position has become an ideal platform for the important development of the presence of Pirelli in the USMCA, the free trade agreement of Mexico, USA and Canada.
