Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, had a participation at the ‘World Social Forum 2022’ –WSF- in the Republic of South Africa, to learn about success stories from countries aimed at Technological Innovation; there he participated in a panel as a speaker of the Mindfacture and had a meeting with the President of South Africa.
The World Science Forum 2022, held from December 6 to 9, is led by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization –Unesco- and brings together more than 900 scientists and specialists from more than 100 countries of the world, those present are responsible for decision-making towards the new challenges facing science in the 21st century.
The Governor of Guanajuato participated in a panel where he presented Guanajuato as the national epicenter of Mexico, where Innovation and Mindfacture are sought and promoted to generate the social development of Guanajuatenses.
With the theme “Social Innovation for Sustainable Development: Exchange of Good Practices from the Local”, the Governor of Guanajuato presented the conference “Mindfacture Nodes” where he highlighted its application as a public policy aimed at the development of the State.
The Governor said that this work seeks talent from Guanajuato in technological innovation applied to knowledge, which derives from science and experience, to offer a product or service with added value.
The Mindfacture in Guanajuato, said Rodriguez, works transversally from the State Government, since it involves all Government instances to solve innovation projects from the academy and individual or collective entrepreneurship.
Thus, the transversal work from the Government of Guanajuato puts local talent at the core of innovation and offers them technology, products, and production and business consultancies.
In this effort, the goa lis that all Guanajuatenses interested in their labor and economic development, obtain knowledge and skills to put production units into practice as socially responsible companies.
In this forum of opinions, also participated with the Governor:
- The Regional Director for Southern Africa of Unesco, Lidia Brito
- The Director of Technologies and Environmental Services of the Department of Science and Innovation, Henry Roman
- Dorian Rommens of Unesco Mexico
At the WSF, the Governor of Guanajuato had a meeting with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to whom he explained the general theme of his participation in the Forum and what is done in Guanajuato with innovation, technology and Mindfacture, oriented to the social development of citizens.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo also met with some WSF leaders to exchange views on technological and scientific development in other countries and on technological innovation in Guanajuato.
Present at this table were Lidia Brito and Martial Zebaze Kana, UNESCO Regional Director and Director of Science for Southern Africa, respectively, among other leaders.
