“This hall represents a new horizon, and this year we want to continue promoting Guanajuato so that it can continue conquering new markets, because the greatest asset we have in our State is the talent, the work, and the vision of our people,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, at the inauguration of Hall C5 at the Poliforum in Leon.
Today, this C5 Hall adds 13,000 square meters of construction so that this venue now reaches a total area of more than 42,000 square meters, with the capacity to accommodate up to 6,000 people, with innovative engineering.
Poliforum hosts nearly 200 events per year and generates an annual economic impact exceeding 2.9 billion pesos. Therefore, the Governor stated that this project demonstrates that blend of hard work, vision, and above all, that Leonese spirit that always dreams big.
The State Governor thanked the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Poliforum, Carlos Abugaber Giacoman, for believing in and not letting go of this dream.
“After four decades, this place has shown us that success is a marathon of endurance and faith. You are proof that the word ‘impossible’ does not exist here,” said Abugaber.
In 1979, this venue was created to boost the footwear industry. Events such as SAPICA and ANPIC were established in this space, and it has become the epicenter of meetings and events where the whole world comes together, such as the Veterinary Congress, among other.
Currently, Hall C6 is under construction, and the Governor reaffirmed her support for the Board of Directors to continue the expansion of this facility. “For us, infrastructure only makes sense if it brings well-being to families,” said the Governor.
Prior to this event, the new Poliforum facilities were blessed by Father Juan Rodriguez Alba, Vicar of the Archdiocese of Leon.
