Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo presented “Guanajuato Suma, Un Nuevo Rumbo para Nuestra Gente” (Guanajuato Adds Up, A New Direction for Our People), the State’s new economic policy, and announced 17 new investment projects worth 2.558 billion dollars, representing 3,567 new jobs for the people of Guanajuato.

The strategy seeks to bring economic development to more regions of the State, strengthen local businesses, attract higher-value industries, develop talent, and convert investment into better jobs and income for families.

With this, Guanajuato is evolving its economic model to compete in a new era as a leader in inclusive and purposeful economic development with a view to 2050.
“Because the future is built through collaboration, synergy, and teamwork. To date, we have built a successful model of collaboration of government, businesses, and universities. Now we want to go further and take another step. We want to add research centers, international organizations, investors, and new players that will accelerate innovation and development,” said the Governor.

Guanajuato Suma is the economic policy that:
- Attracts new investments
- Develops talent
- Strengthens local businesses
- Brings more opportunities to all regions of the State
The Governor said the goal is for development to be more balanced and reach all municipalities, with productive diversification and a boost to MSMEs.

The new economic policy marks a turning point and will be the roadmap with which Guanajuato responds to changes in the global economy, will promote new sectors and turn investment into quality jobs, better income, stronger local businesses and opportunities for everyone.
The new policy addresses challenges such as the concentration of economic activity in a few municipalities. Its purpose is to consolidate Guanajuato as Mexico’s leading advanced industrial ecosystem and one of the most competitive high-value manufacturing hubs in North America. The challenge is to shift from competing on cost and manufacturing capacity to competing on knowledge, innovation, talent, and generating greater value.

The strategy is structured around 5 pillars:
- 1. Balanced regional development
- 2. Productive diversification and technological transformation
- 3. Industrial infrastructure and energy
- 4. Talent, employability and inclusión
- 5. Comprehensive strengthening of MSMEs
These pathways will allow us to attract projects in sectors such as:
- Data centers, semiconductors, AI, advanced manufacturing, medical devices, electromobility and clean energy, while continuing to strengthen traditional productive vocations

The Governor noted that when Guanajuato combines talent, innovation, and investment, opportunities multiply:
By 2030, the goal is to reach:
- $8 billion in accumulated investment
- 50,000 new jobs linked to strategic priorities
- Support 14,000 MSMEs
- Certify 7,000 local suppliers
- Issuing 3,000 microcredentials

In addition, the Governor announced the arrival of 17 investment projects totaling $2.558 billion and 3,567 committed jobs. Libia noted the diversity of the investments, ranging from the automotive, mining, construction, data center, and real estate development sectors to energy, among other.
Thus, this Government has accumulated 76 projects, 6,406.55 million dollars and 18,811 jobs, (80.08% of the six-year investment goal).
