“I have always said that technology only makes sense if it makes people’s lives easier,” said Governor Libia Dennise as she presented a new website designed to bring health information directly to the cell phones of Guanajuato families.

Knowing where the nearest medical unit is, where to receive specific care or specialty, and learning about the services and results of the Guanajuato Health System will be easier with the new digital platform available at:

The platform was presented by the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, during a new broadcast of Connecting with the People.

The platform allows users to locate the nearest health unit, consult the directory of medical facilities, find guidance and emotional support, access information on mental health, prevention, and emergency care under the Zero Rejection policy, as well as view results and indicators from the system itself. It also forms part of the evolution toward new digital services, such as online medical appointments.

“We want people to be able to know where to receive care without having to go to a facility first to ask. This is their health system, and we want them to take advantage of it, understand it, and have the information readily available,” the State Governor emphasized.

Libia was with the Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, and the Director of Planning of the Guanajuato State Public Health Institute (ISAPEG), Giovanna Leticia Cabrera Contreras, the Governor detailed that Guanajuato has 590 first level units, 19 community hospitals, 16 general hospitals, seven specialized hospitals and six state support units.

The state health system has received 12 national awards since 2020, six of them during the current administration, and more than 90 percent of users rate the treatment they receive positively. Furthermore, it maintains a Zero Rejection policy, through which more than 566,000 patients covered by other institutions have received care in Guanajuato.

Among its achievements are:

  • First place nationally in quality of diabetes care
  • Six consecutive years in first place in hypertension care
National leadership in vaccination of children under six years of age
  • 811 organs and tissues procured so far in the current Administration
  • A story that puts a face to the healthcare system

The broadcast featured Joanne Marie as a special guest, a young patient who came with her parents, Georgina Aguilar and Carlos Daniel García, who shared how prenatal detection and medical support allowed them to address various health complications before her birth.

Joanne Marie was diagnosed during pregnancy at the Specialized Early Screening Center; at birth, she received neonatal care and underwent two abdominal surgeries. Today, she continues her follow-up care in pulmonology, gastroenterology, nutrition, rehabilitation, and pediatric surgery.

“They never left us alone,” shared his parents, who acknowledged the support received from medical, nursing, social work and psychology staff throughout the entire process.

The Governor reiterated that stories like Joanne Marie’s are what give meaning to the investment and the ongoing work to maintain a close and responsive system.

“For the People’s Government, health has a face, a name, stories, and families waiting for answers. That trust is an enormous responsibility that we assume every day,” concluded Libia Dennise.
