Leon Fair 2024 expects more than 5 million

For the first time, the international shows: Disney’s “Mickey Surprise”; “Coco, a festival to remember” and “Disney A Magical and Epic Adventure” are presented in Leon

The most important family fair in Mexico: the “Leon State Fair”, is ready to receive more than 5 million people from January 12 to February 6, 2024, visitors will enjoy magic, excitement, and smiles through unique experiences that promote healthy coexistence.

The details of this event were presented in Mexico City and according to the Board of Directors of the Fair, they expects the arrival of more than 121 thousand tourists to hotels in the city of Leon and an economic benefit of 2.7 billion pesos. 

Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, representing Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, applauded the great joint effort between the State Government, the Municipality of Leon and private initiative, for the enjoyment of families. 

“Throughout the decades, Guanajuato has been working to become the fifth economy in the country, and the economy has to do with tourism and with this great Leon Fair that will be held at the fairgrounds, a large space that includes very important institutions for the development of the State as a successful Federative part” said Alvarez Brunel.

The Secretary of Tourism recalled that on December 20, “we celebrate the 200 years of Guanajuato as a Free and Sovereign State, joining the Federation and being one of the first States to do so”.

Guanajuato knows how to hold events of great magnitude and with a social focus, such as this Leon Fair, which will put the State in the “focus of attention of families from Leon, Guanajuato, and all of Mexico”, said Brunel.

This year, the Leon State Fair -a great showcase of the economic, cultural and tourist wealth of Guanajuato- promises great fun in the eight Worlds it presents:

• World of Music
• World of flavor, made up of the gastronomic route and bars and restaurants
• World of tradition, the ideal place to learn more about the traditions and the vast cultural wealth of Mexico and the guest state, which in this edition is Querétaro
• World of Shopping, located mainly in Poliforum, with the traditional GTO Pavilion that offers products of the highest quality of the Marca GTO brand and is complemented by the leather and footwear pavilion, in addition to the already traditional “Gritones”
• The World of Animals, an area located in the old livestock area, where you can spend time with your family with the livestock exhibition and interactive farm “Don Cleto”
• World of Adventure, one of the favorite spaces of visitors. In this place you will experience the adrenaline to the fullest with mechanical games, novelties and skills
• World of Magic, a place where you can discover shows full of color, music, dance, acrobatics and lots of fun such as the Show Elementum By Illusion On Ice, in addition to the Robert’s Circus, which celebrates 40 uninterrupted years at the Leon State Fair
• World of Fantasy, arrives at the León State Fair 2024, a world where the whole family can enjoy incredible international shows such as Disney’s “Mickey Surprise,” a musical full of lights and lots of fun, where attendees can help Minnie Mouse, Donald, Pluto and Goofy surprise Mickey Mouse with a big celebration

In addition, “Coco: A festival to remember” arrives with a show with a mix of audiovisual and thematic elements that highlight the cultural richness of the traditional “Day of the Dead.” This show will be held in the Fair Dome and will feature the projection of COCO by Disney and PIXAR and digital projections (mapping), live music and the special participation of artists, who will perform the most endearing songs from the film. such as Remember Me, Un Poco Loco, La Llorona, among other songs.

Finally, “A Magical and Epic Adventure”, which will feature a Star Wars exhibit made up of ships, life-size characters and collectible figures; and another of Mickey Mouse with figures that show his evolution over the years.

“The Fair is an engine so that Leonese families can live together, enjoy and take advantage of the different areas and worlds that the 2024 edition will contain, with more than 80% of the activities free of charge”, said David Novoa Toscano, President of the Council of Directors of the Fair.

Yazmin Quiroz Lopez, Director of Hospitality and Tourism of Leon, representing the Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez, noted that the municipality of Leon is prepared and strengthened to receive national and international tourists who come to visit the Leon State Fair. This great city offers more than 9 thousand rooms.

During the 26 days, attendees will be able to have fun and experience the different worlds in the facilities of the Fairgrounds with an access cost of 13 pesos.
