In Guanajuato citizen’s participation is promoted

With the Citizen Participation structures, a Community Development Plan is established for the social development

Governor of Guanajuato Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, thanked Guanajuatenses who participate in the reconstruction of the social fabric and who collaborate in activities to improve the environment of their neighborhoods and communities.

The Governor led the Fourth Meeting of Social Participation Structures with the Secretary of Social and Human Development, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

“You have not left your people alone, you have been there through the good times and the bad times. You are a leadership that has grown thanks to the fact that we work together with the State Government. Thank you, because the only way to continue helping people is for us to continue working in the neighborhoods and communities,” said the Governorg.

With the Citizen Participation structures, the communication and linking channels of society and Government are reinforced; and a Community Development Plan is established through which actions and works for the social development of the priority attention areas of the State are identified.

This program provides access to government innovation mechanisms, social policy actions, programs and projects.

“Thanks all of you for being part of these committees where your participation is the most important. In Guanajuato we have a wonderful state in which you and we as a Government work hand in hand, here we work in unity, as a team. I want to thank our Governor for the opportunity to serve from the Secretary of Social and Human Development, I am convinced that those of us who are in public service are here to do good, to work for others,” said Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

This event held in Leon had the participation of more than 7 thousand people from the different Participation Structures of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato and the members of the Legal and Expanded Cabinet of the State Government were present.

Within the People Helping People Program, there are currently 704 Participation Structures, each made up of 11 people who work very closely with society and the Secretary of Social and Human Development.

“For the State Government, it is important to have social participation structures that are suitable for promoting the strengthening of community relations and motivating citizen participation, as well as involvement in public decision-making in their community”, said Libia Dennise. 

“The purpose is to improve the quality of life of people, families and communities with actions that improve their environment, providing a focus on identity and belonging among the people who live in the place”, said the Secretary.
