The fashion sector of Guanajuato is projected to exceed $1.094 billion in exports by 2025, solidifying its international presence

More companies, especially SMEs, are integrating into global markets thanks to the support of COFOCE

Fashion made in Guanajuato continues to position itself in international markets as a result of a solid strategy to promote internationalization led by the People’s Government, which, through the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE), has strengthened the capabilities of companies to compete and grow abroad.

During 2025, the sector reached exports for 1,094 million dollars, representing a growth of 4.1 percent compared to the previous year, consolidating itself as one of the most dynamic sectors of the State economy.

This progress reflects the coordinated work between the People’s Government and the productive sector, where COFOCE has played a key role through training programs, strategic support and international trade links, bringing real opportunities to Guanajuatense companies to take their products to the world.

These results are posible thanks to the efforts of 781 exportingcompanies spread across 23 municipalities, 40% of which are micro-enterprises. This figure reflects a commitment to make international opportunities more democratic, enabling more and more MSMEs to integrate into foreign trade and consolidate their growth.

Municipalities with a high productive vocation, such as Leon, concentrate an important part of the sector’s exports, particularly in industries such as footwear; however, the growth of the fashion sector is also expanding to other municipalities, demonstrating the reach of a State strategy that promotes export development throughout Guanajuato.

Notable examples include:

  • Irapuato, with a growth of 9.9 percent
  • Silao, which registered a growth of 467.7 percent 
  • Moroleon, with an increase of 237.5 percent 

These advances reflect how more and more companies are taking advantage of the tools and support provided by the People’s Government, through COFOCE, to integrate into international markets.

In terms of destinations, North America accounts for 87.9 percent of exports, with the United States as the main trading partner, reaching $949 million.

Furthermore, progress continues in diversifying into markets such as Vietnam, China, and Canada, bringing Guanajuato’s products to a total of 74 international destinations in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa.

The growth of the fashion sector in Guanajuato is not by chance; it is the result of a clear vision promoted by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, who, through the People’s Government and the technical work of COFOCE, has created the conditions for more companies to integrate into international trade and increase their competitiveness.

Today, the fashion made in Guanajuato is not only produced with quality, but is projected to the world thanks to the joint effort of a close government, a well-defined strategy and, above all, the MSMEs that work every day to grow their business and take the name of Guanajuato to new markets.
