Guanajuato stands out nationally in wellness tourism, thus reaffirming its leadership in the development of innovative tourism products by obtaining national recognition in the Wellness Tourism category within the Recognition of Innovation of the Mexican Tourism Product 2026, granted by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico.

The winning product of Tierra Madre Hotel Boutique, led by Ingrid Garces de Isla, of the company Camanalli Chamacuero, stands out for its proposal that integrates wellness, nature and high-value experiences, consolidating Guanajuato as a destination that evolves and diversifies its tourist offer in the Magic Town, Comonfort.

This recognition is part of a national call that aims to identify, promote and showcase innovative tourism products that contribute to the diversification of the offer in Mexico and which reflects the drive of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
The participating proposals were evaluated under technical criteria such as innovation, sustainability, authenticity, community integration, market viability and contribution to the tourism value chain, which guarantees that the winning projects represent replicable and high-impact models for the development of the sector.

This year, projects were awarded in various strategic tourism categories, including:
- Cultural tourism, wellness, gastronomy, adventure, community tourism, ecotourism, inclusive tourism, and romance
These categories reflect the diversity of segments that are currently driving the country’s tourism growth and responding to new traveler trends.

The Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, noted that this achievement is the result of coordinated work between the public and private sectors and the people who live off tourism in Guanajuato.
“This recognition confirms that in Guanajuato we are doing things right, betting on innovation without losing our identity, and generating experiences that connect with well-being and new ways of traveling,” she said.

Guanajuato participated in this edition with four tourism projects in different strategic segments:
- Wellness (Comonfort)
- Gastronomy (Irapuato)
- Inclusive (Tarandacuao)
- Community (Ocampo)
This recognition is especially significant as it is the first that Guanajuato has obtained under the approach of innovation in the tourism product and the first in the wellness category, which opens a new strategic line for the positioning of the State in this growing segment.
