Guanajuato received 52 international awards that recognize the quelity of the guanajuatense wines

The excellence of Guanajuatense wines once again stood out on the international stage during the 34th edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) 2026, held from May 21 to 23 in Yerevan, Armenia, where Guanajuato obtained 52 awards, consolidating itself as the second most awarded state in Mexico.

This year, Guanajuato ranked only after Baja California and before Coahuila, confirming the growth, quality, and competitiveness of its wine industry.

The national ranking by number of awards is as follows:
- Baja California – 88 awards
- Guanajuato – 52 awards
- Coahuila – 47 awards

The awards received by the Guanajuatense labels were:
- 1 special recognition “Revelation Wine”, to the Gran Pago 2023
- 2 Grand Gold Medals (Gran Pago 2021, from Viñedo Cuna de Tierra and Syrah 2023*, from Vinedos San Miguel)
- 12 Gold Medals
- 10 Silver Medals
- 27 WBC Merit Awards
In total, 13 vineyards located in five municipalities of Guanajuato were awarded:
- San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo Cradle of National Independence, San Felipe, Comonfort and Leon
Among the most outstanding results of this edition is the recognition given to Gran Pago 2021, from Vinedo Cuna de Tierra, which was distinguished as the Best Mexican Wine of the Brussels World Competition 2026, one of the highest distinctions that a national label can receive in this prestigious international competition.

Likewise, Gran Pago 2023 received special recognition as Revelation Wine, reaffirming the quality, innovation and consistency of wines produced in Guanajuato.
Along with this important achievement, the 2023 Syrah wine from Vinedos San Miguel obtained a Grand Gold Medal, consolidating Guanajuato’s presence among the most outstanding wine regions in the world.

With 52 international awards, second place nationally in number of awards and the title of Best Mexican Wine in the competition, Guanajuato reaffirms its leadership as one of the great wine destinations in Mexico.
These results reflect the talent, dedication, and vision of Guanajuatense producers, who have made of the State a national and international benchmark in the wine industry.

The Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) recognizes the work of the wineries, winemakers, producers and collaborators who continue to strengthen the wine tourism vocation of Guanajuato, generating economic development, attracting visitors and positioning for the State.
