COFOCE and CLAUGTO work to promote auto-industry

The public and private organism strengthen alliance to promote the internationalization of Guanajuato’s automotive industry

The Guanajuato State Foreign Trade Promotion Coordinator (COFOCE) and the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster (CLAUGTO) reaffirmed their strategic alliance by signing a continuation agreement, with the objective of strengthening competitiveness, international promotion and the generation of new business opportunities for companies in the automotive and auto parts industry of the State.

The signing occurred during the presentation of the Automotive Supply Forum, one of the main spaces for linking up for the industry and in which both institutions will continue to work in a coordinated manner to bring commercial opportunities and buyers to Guanajuatense companies.

As part of this alliance, plans are underway to establish a joint international promotion plan for the industry, as well as to develop actions related to business intelligence, training, international certifications, competitiveness, and digital transformation.

In addition, COFOCE and CLAUGTO will continue to share business opportunities and portfolios aimed at the automotive and auto parts sector, accompany business missions and strengthen the link between companies and new national and international markets and buyers.

One of the strategic points of the agreement is to assist in attracting buyers to the Automotive Supply Forum, strengthening this meeting as a platform to generate commercial connections and new business opportunities for suppliers of Guanajuato.

“Today we are very pleased to continue this collaboration with the Automotive Cluster. COFOCE has been working with CLAUGTO since 2023, and now we want to build together an international promotion plan for the industry, which includes business intelligence to share commercial opportunities, training, certifications, and compliance tools to strengthen the supply chain,” said Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, General Director of COFOCE.

“We will also continue to support business missions and connect CLAUGTO companies with the programs and tools that COFOCE offers to strengthen their export plans. And, above all, we will continue to support the attraction of national and international buyers. For the Forum, we already have confirmed companies such as Polaris, Dana, and Hylex, among other buyers,” said the Director.

“We want more Guanajuatense companies to integrate into global value chains, which will translate into greater job creation, better-paying jobs, and a more diversified customer base. This strategy is aligned with strengthening SMEs and with the work we do with the Secretary of Economy to connect our companies with buyers, training, certifications, and compliance tools,” said Vargas Zavala.

This action aligns with “Guanajuato SUMA, A New Path for Our People”, the new economic policy presented by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, as a roadmap to strengthen the State’s economic development towards 2050, with a vision focused on bringing more opportunities to all regions, promoting technological transformation, developing talent, and strengthening local businesses.
