The Government of Guanajuato participated, through the Migrant Secretary and International Liaison –SMEI-, in the First Open Dialogue Forum of El Bajio, which seeks to address freedom of expression from various perspectives.
Representing the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, Juan Hernandez, head of SMEI, said that “the government’s job is to create alternatives so that Guanajuatenses living here or abroad can show and demonstrate their talents, ideas or differences and with it our virtue of free land is further enhanced”.
- “For almost three years, we have been living in very difficult times as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. The economic and health ravages caused us to reinvent ourselves, to think over and over again how to get ahead. And these forums are precisely one of the tools that help us believe in ourselves”, said Hernandez.
“The Government of Guanajuato, is the first interested and busy in ensuring that all Guanajuato citizens, regardless of their profession or trade, can develop in full freedom,” said the Secretary.
Hernandez said that the essence of Forums of this type and level, in which personalities from different disciplines and institutions will participate is to, together, build a conversation that positively transcends people’s lives.
After the inauguration, the head of SMEI gave a presentation called “Migration: Panorama to the Interior of the Country”, in which Hernandez spoke about the types of human displacement, migrants in transit and return, the reform of article 30 of the Mexican constitution.
Hernandez also mentioned the good practices that Guanajuato observes in this sector, about remittances and about Guanajuato as a national and international reference in the attention to the migratory phenomenon.
