Destinations of Guanajuato are shown in Madrid

Chef Lucy Noriega, traditional cook Sara Arvizu, Candy Perez from Tequila Corralejo, and teacher Hermes Arroyo show the Great Stories of Guanajuato

Guanajuato connects with the people of Madrid and invites them to give themselves a treat by going through its 46 municipalities

Guanajuato is an innovative, friendly destination, rich in gastronomy, culture and art, benefits that are exhibited at the International Tourism Fair -FITUR- in Madrid, Spain, all of them are well appreciated by travelers looking for the best tourism experiences.

Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, State Secretary of Tourism, with important players in the global tourism industry, inaugurated the Guanajuato stand “Live Great Stories” at IFEMA Madrid, and the “Casa Guanajuato”, located in the Torcuato restaurant at the ABC Serrano shopping center at Serrano Street, 61.

From January 24 to 28, the Guanajuato stand will showcase the State’s great diversity of tourist resources and will hold business meetings with tourism professionals, as well as interviews with specialized media.

A series of activities are taking place at Casa Guanajuato, including:

• Gastronomic workshops on “Ceremonial Tortilla”, “curing molcajete”, “making pinole”, and tasting of Corralejo Tequila, as well as a cardboard workshop, virtual reality experience “Guanajuato closer than you think”, and presentation of Dolorense wine

In these great settings, Guanajuato fuses tradition and avant-garde, and connects with Madrid residents, tourists and attendees in general, inviting them to discover and try the wonders of the 46 municipalities in Guanajuato; and soon plan a getaway to the cultural destination.

During the grand opening of Casa Guanajuato, chef Lucy Noriega, traditional cook Sara Arvizu, and Candy Perez, Sales Manager of Tequila Corralejo, offered welcome tastings to the international tourism sector, who tried sopes de mantequitas and nopal sope with flower of aloe vera, fused with Guanajuato mixology.

These women exalt the culinary art of the State at FITUR:

• Lucy Noriega graduated with honors in haute cuisine with 26 years of experience in the field of gastronomy and is at the service of diplomatic events for royalty and high-level politicians from much of the world.
• Sara Arvizu with a long history dedicated to preserving and disseminating the heritage of Guanajuato and has more than a decade of experience in the fascinating world of gastronomy.
• Candy Perez with 18 years of experience in the tequila industry, she is a creator of high-impact experiences and alliances.

Also present at Casa Guanajuato is Hermes Arroyo, a popular art teacher, plastic artist and sculptor who lives in San Miguel de Allende, he has captured the roots of various expressions and techniques in each of his works, turning it into his way of life and the originality of his own art.

The artist Hermes offers workshops on paper flowers, decorated skulls for the Day of the Dead, heart decoration, and San Antonio crazy masks. Attendees have enjoyed elaborating and detailing the art of Guanajuato.
