The assembly plants installed in Guanajuato, open more than 25 thousand job opportunities for Guanajuatenses, which allows them to improve their quality of life.
During the state administration of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, 78 investment projects in the automotive-auto parts sector have been completed, with a value of more than 4 billion dollars and the commitment to generate more than 29 thousand jobs.
The head of the Secretary for Sustainable Economic Development –SDES-, Ramon Alfaro Gomez specified that in addition to the assembly companies, complementary investments have been installed in the territory of Guanajuato, consolidating the automotive sector as one of the most solid, integrated production chains with the greatest projection of Guanajuato.
Guanajuato is the only State in Mexico that has 5 automotive assembly plants:
- General Motors in Silao
- Honda in Celaya
- Mazda in Salamanca
- Toyota in Apaseo el Grande
- Hino Motors in Silao
The Government of Guanajuato is committed to economic diversification with activities with a greater technological content focused on innovation and the application of the Mindfacture.
The auto parts industry is in a reconfiguration process with changes like additional business units to its original project to adapt to the demand of components for Electromobility.
With the presence of these manufacturing facilities, local supply is added to the value chain, from small service providers, component manufacturers to logistics providers and transportation services.
Alfaro Gomez noted that, in addition, the exchange of technology and knowledge for the development of technical skills improves the labor market, causing greater specialization and therefore a better salary.
