Governor Libia Dennise called for continued institutional collaboration between the State Government and the Mexican Army to deliver better results for Guanajuatense families

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, commemorated the 179th anniversary of the heroic deed of the Boy Heroes of Chapultepec, by participating in the Solemn Civic Ceremony, in the XII Military Region, in Irapuato.
“This was an event that marked our history, thanks to the bravery of some children and young people who taught us that it is worth giving everything for what we love,” said the State Governor.
The heroic feat occurred on September 13, 1847, during the American intervention in Mexico, at the Chapultepec Palace, headquarters of the Military College; where around 50 cadets participated in the combat.
The cadets remembered are:
- Juan de la Barrera, Juan Escutia, Agustin Melgar, Vicente Suarez, Fernando Montes de Oca, and Francisco Marquez
- Their sacrifice made them symbols of young Mexicans committed to their country
For the People’s Government, honoring the Boy Heroes means working responsibly for the Mexico they defended, explained Libia Dennise, who called for continued institutional collaboration.
“In Guanajuato, we deeply believe in that spirit of collaboration. When institutions combine their capabilities, when there is coordination, and when everyone fulfills their responsibility, the results bring peace of mind to the families of Guanajuato and all of Mexico,” said Libia Dennise.
This ceremony included honors to the Flag, a roll of honor, an honor guard, the sounding of Taps, and the anthems of the Heroic Military College and National.
The Governor said that the presence of the Mexican Army and the National Guard allows us to recognize their daily coordination with the State Government and the municipalities.
“In Guanajuato we combine capabilities, in Guanajuato we work as a team, that is the best example of the commitment and confidence we have in our institutions,” the Governor emphasized.
This collaboration is a central part of CONFIA, the Operational Coordination of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force.
