As part of the Patriotic Celebrations, the Municipal Government of Purisima del Rincon invites residents and visitors to keep the September 16 celebrations going with the 1st edition of “Entre Sabores y Caballos” (Between Flavors and Horses), a new event bringing together charro tradition, gastronomy, live music, and local talent.

The event will be held on September 16, starting at 11am right after the traditional parade, at the Lienzo Charro Ezequiel Fernandez. Admission is free, with activities for the whole family.

Jesus Barragan Quiroz said that this project, spearheaded by the Municipality of Purisima del Rincon, aims to create a new space to support and strengthen charreria while offering families a vibrant venue to continue enjoying the national holiday after the morning parade.
With municipal support, the event brings together charreria, gastronomy, music, handicrafts, local goods, and familiar reunion under one roof. “Entre Sabores y Caballos” was created with the vision of becoming an annual fixture on Purisima del Rincon’s calendar, steadily building participation among the charro community and local service providers year after year.

“We want families to keep experiencing our Fiestas Patrias after the traditional parade. On the initiative of our mayor, Roberto Garcia Urbano, we are promoting this new event to bolster charreria and create larger platforms for its promotion. This is the first time the Municipality is hosting ‘Entre Sabores y Caballos,’ and our goal is for it to stay and become a beloved annual tradition,” noted Barragan Quiroz.

Throughout the day, attendees will experience live charreria, introducing children, youth, and adults to one of Mexico’s most iconic cultural traditions.
Event Highlights:
- Charrería & Escaramuzas: Local and regional charro teams alongside escaramuzas (female equestrian teams) will participate in scheduled demonstrations and activities
- Local Products & Workshops: Traditional cuisine, artisanal purisimense tequila, handicrafts, local goods, and interactive workshops for children and adults
- Live Music: Banda Imperio takes the stage starting at 4pm to bring music and festive energy to the September 16 celebrations

“This event strengthens the cultural offer we have in Purisima del Rincon. We aim to develop it through a sustainable vision that relies on local participation while highlighting our gastronomy. Throughout the year, we want to host diverse events for all tastes that display the identity and diversity of our municipality,” said Roberto Camargo, Director of Tourism for Purisima del Rincon.

This inaugural edition is supported by the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato (SECTURI), combining efforts with the Municipal Government to promote charreria and connect it with regional identity, gastronomy, and tourism.
