Guanajuato celebrates World Tourism Day

In observance of World Tourism Day, the People’s Government continues to consolidate a Community Tourism model aligned with the Federal strategy, which is more inclusive, sustainable, and closer to communities

In commemoration of World Tourism Day, the People’s Government reaffirms its commitment and alignment with the Community Tourism model that puts people and communities at the center, promoting new opportunities for economic development with tourist routes, strengthening the identity of destinations with actions such as the new Japanese website; and opening new paths for current tools such as artificial intelligence.

Through the Guanajuato SUMA strategy of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) is working on diversifying tourism activity, with actions aimed at ensuring that the benefits of tourism reach more municipalities, communities, service providers, artisans, traditional cooks, producers and entrepreneurs.

Community Tourism represents one of the lines that strengthen this vision, by recognizing the value of the knowledge, traditions, gastronomy, crafts, nature and ways of life of the communities.

Guanajuato boasts a wide variety of tourism products and segments that allow for the creation of experiences around its:

• World Heritage Cities, Magic Towns, vineyards, traditional gastronomy, nature, adventure, romance, culture and meetings tourism, strengthening the value chain that is built around each visitor

As part of this diversification, over the past two years new tourist routes and experiences have been promoted, as well as actions to strengthen the connectivity.

There are two routes ready and born from the very soul of Guanajuato:

• The Unforgettable Guanajuato Route: is considered a must-see for any traveler seeking an authentic Guanajuatense experience. This journey takes you through Guanajuato City, Dolores Hidalgo, Atotonilco, and Mineral de Pozos, where the history of Mexican Independence, art, and World Heritage combine to create a transformative experience

• The Secret Guanajuato Route: is a proposal designed for discerning tourists seeking unique and off-the-beaten-path experiences.
