“The People’s Government keeps its doors open to provide support, guidance and assistance with procedures”: Liz Alejandra Esparza Frausto

The Secretary of Human Rights of the People’s Government, Liz Alejandra Esparza Frausto, received Salvador Gonzalez Matehuala, originally from San Luis de la Paz, who was recently deported from the United States after working in that country for several years.
Salvador Gonzalez, 49, emigrated at age 23. He was detained by immigration agents and held in custody for two weeks; he was eventually deported and returned to San Luis de la Paz. During a recent work visit to that municipality, the official learned of his case directly from him. He told her he was looking for work and needed identification documents.
Given this situation, and as part of the open-door policy promoted by the current State administration for the care of returning migrants, the head of the Secretary of Human Rights, Liz Esparza, personally received Salvador Gonzalez at the agency’s offices in the State Capital, where she listened to his testimony and the needs arising from his reintegration process.
Staff from the Secretary initiated the corresponding procedure so that Salvador Gonzalez can once again have his official identity documents to be able to access formal employment, health services and other social benefits to which he is entitled as a citizen of Guanajuato.
The Official reported that Salvador Gonzalez will be incorporated into the MigranteQuiero strategy, a mechanism promoted by the People’s Government to support migrants returning to the State, whether voluntarily or due to deportation, in identifying a productive activity that matches their experience and skills.
Through this strategy, the Secretary of Human Rights connects returning migrants with training, entrepreneurship, or job placement options.
The Human Rights Secretary said that, “Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo has instructed that Guanajuato migrants returning to the State, whether by choice or by force, will receive our support throughout this process.”
The agency remains open to provide assistance, guidance, and help with paperwork for those, who, like Salvador Gonzalez, are seeking to rebuild their lives after years of hard work abroad.
