The growth of economic activities in the rural areas of Guanajuato is made visible through the provision of equipment and direct training to local micro-entrepreneurs.

Through the “We Believe in You” program, by Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, the aim is to support the initiative of citizens who constantly generate sustenance for their families and the development of their environments.

An example of this strategy is Maricruz Medina Navarro, a resident of the San Jose de la Calera, a community in San Francisco del Rincon, who has been running a barbershop and beauty salon in her own home for 15 years.

“I found out about the program through some friends in the community. I went to the website, checked the call for applications, and registered. Shortly after, I was invited to the Entrepreneurship Initiation Workshop. This experience was a significant turning point, and today I see it as a before and after in my life,” said Maricruz.

After completing the course, Maricruz Medina received a non-refundable financial support of seven thousand pesos.

“I needed to expand, acquire machines, and have more supplies to continue serving my customers,” she said.

Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director of Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, highlighted the impact of providing formal tools to those who already operate a productive activity in priority sectors.

“Our goal for 2026 is to provide 4,000 non-refundable grants of 7,000 pesos each. We want these resources to reach women and young people who have the discipline to succeed, opening up real opportunities for them to expand their businesses and strengthen the economy of their communities,” said Padilla.

The State official emphasized that the economic incentive is necessarily complemented by a comprehensive training scheme that provides participants with a clear administrative structure before the capital is delivered.

“The success of stories like Maricruz’s lies in the fact that it’s not just about providing financial assistance, but about supporting talent with practical training,” said the Official.

Ivon informed that, during the 2025 fiscal year, the State institution distributed more than 3,500 support packages under this scheme in communities and urban areas with priority attention in the 46 municipalities.
