Guanajuato secures 50% of goal of investment for the term

The Governor leads the ceremony announcing Kromberg & Schubert’s expansion at its plants in San Francisco del Rincon and Irapuato

“In less than two years of the People’s Government, 50% of the six-year goal in attraction of investments has already been achieved, with more than 4 billion dollars committed, through 56 projects that represent more than 14,000 jobs for the people of Guanajuato,” said Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

Libia led the ceremony for the official announcement of the expansion of the German company Kromberg & Schubert in its plants in San Francisco del Rincon and Irapuato.

“Today, Kromberg & Schubert demonstrates with actions something we deeply value: trust. We celebrate the announcement of a $26 million investment, which will strengthen and expand the production capabilities of its plants in Irapuato and here in San Francisco del Rincon.

“This adds to the accumulated investment of more than $156 million that they had already made. Congratulations on this announcement,” said the Governor.

“With this investment, they are showing us that they continue to believe in Guanajuato, that they continue to trust in our people, and in our talent,” said Libia Dennise.

The Governor noted that in 120 years, this company has evolved from manufacturing cables to becoming a strategic player in the global automotive industry. It has built a reputation based on quality, reliability, and a long-term vision. “That is why we are so proud to be here with you today.”

Since its arrival in 2005 with the Irapuato plant, to its expansion with two plants in San Francisco del Rincon, Kromberg & Schubert has consolidated a solid presence in our State, said Libia.

What is most important, the Governor said, its growth has generated real opportunities for our people, with more than 6,000 jobs in Guanajuato, with a significant social impact since 90% of its staff is from Guanajuato, and 60% are women.

That is the true value of an investment: when it translates into prosperity, stability, and opportunities for more families in Guanajuato, said Libia Dennise.

The investment by Kromberg & Schubert is earmarked for the Irapuato plant, for the development of new projects linked to the BMW plant in San Luis Potosi, and for the expansion of the plastic injection molding plant in San Francisco del Rincon, which will practically double its capacity.

In addition to strengthening operations linked to strategic projects like the Mercedes-Benz plant, all of this is accompanied by the creation of more than 1,090 new jobs, which represents more opportunities for our people, more development for the region, and a brighter future for our families, said Libia Dennise.

The Governor added that a very important bond of trust and development cooperation has been formed with Germany; this country is the third largest investor partner in Guanajuato, and that represents more opportunities for Guanajuatenses.
