With the commitment to generate real opportunities for young people, the State Institute of Training (IECA) , in coordination with YouthBuild Mexico, began training courses aimed at young people seeking to resume their educational and work path through the “Youth with Direction” program.

This strategy is aimed at young people between 18 and 29 years old who, after facing different risk contexts, have decided to take a step forward and build a new life project through training and education.

The launch of this program in Leon adds to the work begun in San Miguel de Allende, reaching a total of 146 young beneficiaries: 63 in San Miguel de Allende and 83 in Leon, who today begin a training process aimed at developing technical skills and competencies for life.

Salomon Ceballos Ochoa, general director of IECA, said: “You are an example and inspiration to other young people, many young people who for some reason were left behind, many young people who did not dare, for example, to study high school or learn a trade. You are proof that it is possible, that with desire, perseverance, and determination, it is possible to undertake a program like this. So, I want to acknowledge this desire to learn. I am very pleased to see so many young people at this school.”

Participants will receive training in areas with high demand in the labor market, such as welding, footwear technology and industrial processes, as well as training in soft skills that strengthen their personal and professional development.
This effort is part of the vision of the people’s governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to promote public policies that bring training opportunities to those who need them most, promoting inclusion, social mobility and the integral development of youth.

In addition to technical training, the program includes support so that young people can continue their upper secondary education, strengthening their opportunities for employment and personal growth.

Paulina Sanchez Guadarrama Villarreal, National Director of YouthBuild Mexico, said: “It fills me with pride to know that we have such committed young people in this generation. I am deeply grateful to Salomon, a great ally of YouthBuild, a great friend who has been with us through thick and thin to ensure that all of you are here and can receive training. I see these facilities and say, wow! How fortunate we are to have this partnership and this support that allows you to continue growing and developing.”
