The first season of the series “And you, what are you going to do?”, a TV4 production with the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, will have its grand world premiere on Thursday, April 4 on History 2.
In Mexico City, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, and Miguel Torruco Marques, Secretary of Tourism Mexico; Jaime Guerra, General Director of A&E Networks; Arap Bethke, Leading Actor of the series; presented the details of this premiere that was produced in alliance.
“This alliance strengthens tourism in Guanajuato and tourism in Mexico. There is no way to grow and expose our efforts if it is not through allies that allow us to bring to the screen the benefits of our State that is recognized for its culture, traditions, heritage, history, gastronomy, production of spirits and wines,” noted Alvarez Brunel.
“And you, what are you going to do?” is a series of twelve chapters -30 minutes each- starring Arap Bethke, who shows the beauty of 22 tourist destinations:
- Leon, Jalpa de Canovas, Silao, Guanajuato City, Ocampo, San Felipe, San Miguel de Allende, Irapuato, Salamanca, Valle de Santiago, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Yuriria, Moroleon, Uriangato, San Jose Iturbide, Mineral de Pozos, Tierra Blanca, Salvatierra, Tarandacuao, Jerecuaro, Celaya, and Comonfort
“This great tourist content that we have in Guanajuato has been the turning point for us to make that decision to share with the people of Guanajuato and now, through History 2, we will make Guanajuato known to the world, this fills us with pride and enthusiasm,” said the Secretary of Tourism.
History 2 is the first channel created by popular demand, for those who wanted to expand their knowledge and see much more history. “Within the entertainment History programming, for years, we have talked about world destinations, but this is the first time that we have partnered with a high-altitude tourist destination like Guanajuato and it is the first time that we are in a co-production sharing content with TV4”, said Jaime Guerra, General Director of A&E Networks.

“Guanajuato is known, and we always say it with pride, it is the Cradle of National Independence where we find a great variety of attractions and products. These elements must be promoted for the good of Guanajuato tourism; therefore, it is worth highlighting this initiative that seeks to position this beautiful State in the international arena for tourism,” said Miguel Torruco Marques, Secretary of Tourism Mexico.
The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico highlighted that the television series “And you, what are you going to do” was the winner as “The Best Regional Documentary Series” at the 2022 Latin American Television Awards and “Best Audiovisual Project” at the of Excellence 2023.
He said that broadcasting it in History “is a very enjoyable way to attract the attention of potential tourists eager for new experiences. Guanajuato is a destination with great history, culture, nature, tradition, exquisite gastronomy and unmatched craftsmanship. I congratulate the State of Guanajuato for this alliance with History, it is a great example.”
Actor Arap Bethke said that filming in Guanajuato was a great adventure. “The State made an incredible creation that takes us on a journey into the unknown. On this trip I discovered that the most interesting thing is the stories, and what stands out most about Guanajuato is the warmth of the people of Guanajuato, they always had the best attitude”.
