The tourism sector in Guanajuato took an important step towards strengthening its identity and competitiveness by starting the first working group for the integration of the “State Tourism Program 2024-2030”.
In Silao, Lupita Robles Leon, Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, with Local Representative Luis Ricardo Ferro Baeza, President of the Tourism Commission of the State Congress, met with key leaders of the tourism sector to listen to them and highlight priority axes, which will be enriched by the “Regional Forums” that begin on November 25.
“Following the instructions of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the main objective of this meeting is to lay the foundations for the State Tourism Program 2024-2030 that will be built with the voice of all of you as a sector,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity.
Our commitment, said Robles Leon, “is to build a tourism that celebrates our identity and boosts the economic growth of Guanajuato. This is a task that we will carry out by, for and with the tourism industry and in collaboration with the City Councils.”
The program seeks to represent all actors in the value chain and project a shared vision focused on effective strategies. To achieve this, “the regional forums are designed to address the specific needs of each municipality and region, ensuring that the State Tourism Program promotes sustainable development and, at the same time, strengthens local culture and economy”.
These meetings, said the Official, will bring together municipal liaisons, representatives of associations, chambers and organizations of the tourism industry, as well as hoteliers, restaurateurs, travel agencies, tour operators, representatives of Magical Towns and heritage managers, among other actors.
Divided into seven regions, these forums will provide a space to gather essential information and ensure that the program promotes responsible tourism practices and reflects the traditions, values and heritage that make the State of Guanajuato unique.
During this first meeting with leaders of the sector, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity introduced new Officials of the Organism, who will be fundamental in the strategy of the State Tourism Program.
