Authorities from the three levels of government are deploying an intense security operation on the borders of the states of Guanajuato and Jalisco

Authorities of the three levels of Government, deployed in a coordinated manner an intense inter-institutional security operation by land and air, to reinforce surveillance actions in the limits of the states of Guanajuato and Jalisco.
The operation had a state of force made up of more than 120 elements of the State Public Security Forces -FSPE-, the Municipal Police of Leon, the National Guard, the Secretary of National Defense and the Secretary of Public Security of the State of Jalisco.
The operation was supported by:
- 56 patrol cars
- 40 motorcycles
- Canine pairs
- Two helicopters
The inter-institutional activities were carried out in a coordinated and itinerant manner at various strategic points, implementing inspection posts located at the entrances and exits of the States to check vehicles of all kinds in order to prevent the commission of criminal acts.
The operation was carried out at free and toll road points, between Leon and Lagos de Moreno, as well as in the Leon-San Felipe road by the road to the community of Comanja de Corona, Jalisco.
With the intervention of the K9 canine pairs of the State Public Security Forces, trained to detect drugs, firearms and paper money, the inspection posts were reinforced to strengthen proximity actions.
In addition, with the support of the aircraft, overflights were carried out with the aim of increasing surveillance through the ground-air device that was implemented both on road sections to guarantee the safe transit of carriers and motorists circulating in the area, as well as to monitor urban areas of both the state of Jalisco and the state of Guanajuato.
During the operation, federal, state and municipal authorities inspected 855 vehicles and 445 motorcycles with the intention of checking that the documents are in order, in addition 359 interviews were conducted with drivers to find out their points of view on the operation.
