Young people have the strength and talent to be the engine of development in Guanajuato

Innovation and entrepreneurship are the keys that open the doors of development, said the Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo.

“It is a pleasure to be here at the IECA premises in Salamanca to comment on the main achievements, especially in terms of Mindfacture, innovation and attention to young Guanajuatenses”, said the State President.
He stressed that Mindfacture is the most important development project in Guanajuato. “I am referring to the development of deep Innovation, the Valley of Mindfacture, which is very connected and related to our young Guanajuatenses,” said the Governor.
A new threshold
Rodríguez Vallejo recalled that in the 1990s, Guanajuato crossed the threshold to become what it is today: an industrial power. “Today we are facing a new threshold called Mindfacture model GTO”.
A transition
In Guanajuato a transition to a knowledge economy, based on innovation is promoted, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Valley of Mindfacture is an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, which consists of making resources visible, connecting them and producing services and products with added value.
Close to innovation
“It has international links with other fundamental places of innovation such as Israel, Singapore, the European Union and the United States with MIT in Boston, among other”, he added.
“This makes the Valley of Mindfacture open to obtaining the best of the world and sharing the best of its interior. Mindfacture is a form of innovation that uses knowledge to add value to products and services,” he noted.
Moving on
He said that in Guanajuato we are moving from manufacture to Mindfacture. To do this, IDEA GTO was created, which is the gateway to the Valley of Mindfacture.
Rodríguez Vallejo recalled that last December, the platform www.valledelamentefactura.com was presented; a site that links in one place all the business opportunities, growth alternatives, strategic alliances and technological resources that we have in the state.
Innovation District
In addition, explained the Governor, we already have the Innovation District in the Valley of Mindfacture, which materializes efforts to provide companies, entrepreneurs, civil organizations and the public sector with capacities to detonate Mindfacture.
The Valley of Mindfacture is a growing universe of creativity and talent. “It is the place where Guanajuatenses are doing something extraordinary from the ordinary, it is the valley of the future,” said the Governor.
He explained that through JuventudEsGto they are working to promote the talent of young people, because they are strong and able of positively transforming our environment.
Stay in school
For example, he said, young people are supported to go on and stay in school. Through the Single Scholarship System, more than 131 thousand young people are benefited, with an investment of more than 929 million pesos.
He stressed that since the beginning of the administration, more than 9 thousand scholarships have been provided for students and teachers to study in 32 countries, among them Canada, Spain and the United States of America stand out.
The Governor said that last year, through the MiCompuGTO program, 100,000 laptops were delivered to students in their last year of high school and university to support their learning in times of the pandemic.
Strategic alliances
Another way of supporting them has been with some strategic alliances that have been achieved, for example, with Amazon and Google, with whom there is collaboration so that young people receive fundamental topics such as Mindfacture and technological innovation, among other, he said.
Also, the participation of 16,350 young people integrated into seven Social Leadership Networks was encouraged, they did volunteer actions for the benefit of more than 189,000 people in the 46 municipalities, he stressed.
Youth with Greatness
He said that it is very important to recognize the effort and talent of our youngsters. And it is done through the Youth With Greatness State Award, in which 199 young people from 36 municipalities participated, in the fields of academia and technology, social commitment, artistic expressions, entrepreneurial ingenuity, environmental protection and impact actions in time of pandemic.
“This award promotes the talent and comprehensive training of the 11 young awardees, through an international experience in Estonia with a comprehensive nine-day agenda”, said the Governor.
Empowerment communities
He added that 11 empowerment communities were formed with youngsters from Guanajuato, who replicate information and topics such as mindfulness, innovation, healthy living, promotion of peace, community development, education, environment, equal opportunities, sports and culture.
“Young people represent the present and the future of this country. You have the strength and talent to be the engine of innovation and development in Guanajuato. We need your ideas, your dreams and daring”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
