Physicians of the El Bajio Region hold their Congress in Leon and share experiences as they celebrate 50 years of the College of Internal Medicine

To positively influence in the health of patients, Secretary of Health Gabriel Cortes Alcala inaugurated the 2024 Bajio Internal Medicine Congress with the motto “For a comprehensive vision of the adult patient.”
The event is a three-day academic session with the participation of several branches and a high-quality programme and speakers.
Gabriela Liceaga Craviotto, representing Faustino Morales, President of the College of Internal Medicine of Mexico, pointed out that this year the College of Internal Medicine celebrates 50 years, since then there has been a commitment to continuing medical education, but above all to improve the quality of care.
The Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortes Alcala, pointed out that “this is an event that brings together leading health professionals in an environment conducive to the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices in our exciting discipline”.
This congress, organized by the College of Internal Medicine Physicians of Leon, Gto. AC and with the endorsement of prestigious institutions such as the Mexican Council of Internal Medicine, the College of Internal Medicine of Mexico and the American College of Physicians, highlights the importance of collaboration and teamwork in medicine.
“Today more than ever, it is imperative to update our knowledge and skills to effectively address the complexities presented by our patients. This congress offers an excellent platform to discuss cutting-edge topics, review protocols and learn from the experience of experts in the field”, said the Secretary who added that internal medicine faces constant challenges in an evolving world.
“We need to broaden our horizons, unity is strength and in health matters it is not the exception. This congress brings together different internal medicine colleges in the region”, said the Secretary.
