State Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo led the ceremony of presentation of the Leon State Fair 2023, which will be held from January 13 to February 7.
With the motto ‘A World to Discover’, the Leon Fair invites visitors to be surprised by all the attractions and activities that commemorate the 447 years of the founding of Leon.
“The Leon Fair is going to generate a lot of talking. This Fair has an origin and a reason to be, this fair is held to commemorate the founding of the City. This fair has not lost the essence of its origin when it was born as an expression of the identity and pride of the people of Leon. It is a space in which culture, entertainment and family life are intertwined”, said the Governor.
This edition of the Leon Fair will have the neighboring state of Michoacan as a guest to show part of its cultural variety and traditions.
Among the attractions of the Leon Fair, there will be:
- International stature shows that are part of the ‘Magic World’, such as Illusion On Ice
- Disney Myst, which will revive stories in a fantasy world
- Circus Robert’s, a show with a history of more than 30 years
As part of the economic reactivation after two years of pandemic and editions that were adapted to the health emergency, the ‘Shopping World’ will be available, a commercial area with its wide variety of items, local merchants and the Guanajuato Pavilion with high quality products from the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato.
Programmed to participate:
- 750 MarcaGto producers
- In 4,500 square meters
- In Room C3 of the Poliforum León
- 5,000 square meters in room B300
In this area, 13 craft events will participate:
- Wood carving, ceramics, pottery, toys, cardboard, candle making, stone carving, basketry, textiles, forging and jewelry
Visitors to the León Fair will be able to enjoy what the collective brands offer:
- Fashion and design with pieces made in the region, such as hats, saddlery, jewelry, accessories, clothing and shoes
At the Leon Fair, visitors will be able to taste:
- Dairy products, sweets, chocolates, cajeta, large bread from Acámbaro and nopales, as well as drinks such as tequila, mezcal, wines and craft beer
Institutional stands of the State Government dependencies will be placed in this área; they will publicize their services and programs
There will be a ContigoSí program module, to acquire the card with which visitors will be able to obtain discounts in the pavilion.
To preserve the cattle and charreria tradition, the Leon Fair adds to the attractions the ‘Animal World’, in which visitors will learn about the cattle exhibition and will be able to be closet o the animals.
The ‘Musical World’ is part of the attractions most awaited by visitors to the Fair and includes a series of artists that will perform in the traditional Palenque at the Leon Fair Show Center and the People’s Theater in La Velaria of the fair, where access will be free.
The gastronomic culture will be reflected in the ‘World of Flavor’; you can’t miss this space for food, snacks and restaurants for all tastes; in addition, through the Festival of Nations, the ‘World of Tradition’ will bring a taste of the traditions of more than 20 countries.
The organizers also presented ‘Mundo de Aventura’, as a point of fun and relaxation, with rides and attractions for all ages.
The Leon Fair is a great economic motor of Guanajuato and a great generator of experiences that contribute to the identity of the people of Leon in a space where culture, fun, entrepreneurship and diversity are linked.
