With the participation of more than 100 artisans from 13 municipalities, the Christmas Craft Festival will be held until January 7 in Guanajuato City for the exhibition and sale of GTO Brand products.
Promoting the wealth and creativity of local producers as an element of added value is one of the strategies of State Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo to increase the competitiveness of traditional sectors.
Ramon Alfaro Gomez, Secretary of Economic Development, highlighted that this Festival, in addition to celebrating this season, encourages local consumption to strengthen the economic fabric of Guanajuato.
Offering their products are craftsmen from:
- Abasolo, Celaya, Comonfort, Coroneo, Dolores Hidalgo C.I.N., Guanajuato, Leon, Salamanca, San Felipe, San Miguel de Allende, Juventino Rosas, San Francisco del Rincon and Tarandacuao
Among the artisanal products you can find:
- Blacksmithing, wood carving, pottery and ceramics, textiles, chandlery, stone and quarry, cardboard, jewelry, painting, traditional toys, headgear, metalwork and souvenirs
The Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development -SDES- promotes entrepreneurship and offers marketing spaces to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises -MSMEs- to display and sell their products for the growth of their businesses and the generation and preservation of jobs.
Visitors will find in the event a wide variety of unique pieces as well as food and drinks that reflect the identity, pride and tradition of Guanajuato artisans.
Alfaro Gomez said that by choosing local products, consumers contribute to the strengthening of the local economy that directly benefits families who are dedicated to artisanal activity.
