The Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the opening ceremony of the Leon State Fair 2023, a ‘World to Discover’, to celebrate the 447th anniversary of the founding of the city.
“Leon is having a party, once again with the best Family Fair in Mexico. A fair that preserves its essence, but with increasingly better facilities and better attractions”, said the President who was with Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos.
“I feel very proud of our fair, which is the result of the effort and work of many people over many years. It has excellent facilities for families to come and have fun”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor noted that it has a great variety, with events for all tastes and that it is very affordable. Plus it promotes economic dynamism, favoring the operation of thousands of businesses and generating a significant economic spillover.
During these 26 days of the Fair, 5 million 100 thousand people are expected, and an estimated economic income of 2 thousand 680 million pesos.
This economic flow is not only registered in the more than 1,900 commercial spaces that are placed within these facilities, of which 80% are occupied by businesses from Guanajuato, it also benefits tourism service providers, merchants, industrialists and to the different economic sectors, said the Governor.
“The León State Fair is a very traditional way to start the year with joy, optimism and hope. Families come to this space to spend time together, have fun and enjoy the shows”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“It is the ideal setting for the commemoration of the founding of the city, which this year reaches its 447th anniversary,” he said.
The Governor recognized all the staff of the Leon State Fair, headed by the President of the Board, David Novoa, for the great effort they have made to offer a fair worthy of the greatness of this city. Also, due to the decision to keep the ticket price the same as last year, thinking of the greater benefit for visitors.
“The León State Fair opens its doors today, in a space where we will find culture, tradition, innovation, entrepreneurship and diversity,” said novoa.
Rodríguez Vallejo welcomed the Governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla. “Michoacán enriches the cultural offer of this event, which this year is the State invited to this Fair, to show its history and art to all visitors to this place.”
The Governor of Michoacan thanked the invitation to participate in this edition, and metioned the fact that this participation strengthens the bonds of friendship of the authorities of both States.
“Come have fun, spend time together, enjoy the gastronomy and verify the quality of the products made in Guanajuato, congratulations”, invited Rodriguez Vallejo.
