500 elements of the National Guard arrived in Guanajuato to strengthen Public Security

“The Secretary of National Defense –SEDENA- through the Comands of the XII Military Region and the 16th Military Zone, informed that within the Public Security plan and the zero impunity policy of the Federal Government, 500 elements of the National Guard, members of the Joint Task Force Mexico, were deployed in the municipalities of Celaya and Salamanca, Guanajuato, to perform actions that inhibit activities of the organized crime.
“These 500 elements deployed will add up to the inter-institutional operations being done in coordination with the Mexican Army and local authorities of the three levels of Government, to reduce the crime and homicide rates related to the organized crime”, informed SEDENA in its press release.
“The main mission of these military personnel is to strengthen the Rule of Law and cooperate with Authorities in the arrest of members of organized crime groups, acting at all times with full respect to human rights”, reveals the press report.
“With these actions the mexican Army and the National Guard, confirm the indeclinable decision of the Federal Government to continue acting against organized crime, serving the needs of the society”, informs SEDENA in the report.
The press release establishes also that “SEDENA and the Armed Forces insist in their commitment to watch for and safeguard the well being of citizens, guaranteing peace and security of all Mexicans”.
