National and international drivers provided a great “street” show during the official start of the “Rally of Nations” in Guanajuato Capital, a World Heritage City.

This year the 180 kilometer Rally celebrates its third edition in the capital of motor sport with the participation of 37 drivers from:

• Mexico, Finland, Norway, Italy, Spain, Peru, France, Germany, England, Brazil, Sweden, United States, and Canada

On the esplanade of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas Regional Museum of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, representing Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, was present along with Gilles Spitalier, Director of the Rally of Nations, at the flag of the sports tourism event that promises an economic impact of 180 million pesos in the entity with the attendance of more than 173 thousand people and more than 17 thousand tourists to 1 to 5 star hotels, according to a forecast of the organizing committee.  

In this start, Guanajuato fans and tourists appreciated the route of the pilots in the legendary streets of the Capital passing by emblematic tourist sites such as the Juárez Theater, Historic Center, Plaza de La Paz, Basilica, Calle Subterránea, Glorieta Diego Rivera, Plaza de las Ranas, Avenida Juárez and Mercado Hidalgo.

This 2024, legends of international rallying and drivers who are starting out in motor sport will compete.

Prior to the start, in the fascinating agave fields of the San Clemente community, in Romita, the 37 drivers stopped to perform the last test of their cars in the Shakedown; present here were Francisco Javier Valverde Polin, General Director of Tourism Development of SECTUR and Oswaldo Ponce Granados, Mayor of Romita.

This weekend, tomorrow, Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th, excitement, speed, adrenaline and fun will be experienced in the State of Guanajuato, home of the Rally and the capital of motor sports. 

This international event is broadcast for more than 40 hours on TV4, international television stations, social networks and digital platforms in Mexico and more than 180 countries.
