At the facilities of the Guanajuato Puerto Interior Social Responsibility Center, the 2024 Traditional Mole Contest was held with great success, an event that seeks to preserve the gastronomic wealth of Mexico and strengthen ties between the industry and nearby communities.

The contest was organized jointly with Organizations of Guanajuato Puerto Interior AC , with the purpose of recognizing local talent and promoting integration between the companies and neighboring communities.

In this edition, the jury was made up of prominent gastronomy professionals and representatives of companies in the area, including Chef Santiago Espinoza (Hotel Staybridge Suites Silao), Chef Hipólito Cervantes Daniel and Chef Miguel Gustavo Álvarez Olmedo (Hotel Fiesta Inn Silao Puerto Interior), Chef Luci Noriega, Chef Rene Martínez and Chef Salvador Bermúdez (Hotel Boutique Hacienda Catrina), as well as Luciana Spina Moris, human resources manager of Beiersdorf Manufacturing México.

Luciana Spina Moris gave an emotional speech on behalf of the Puerto Interior companies and said that “We are preserving the traditions and richness of Mexican gastronomy. It fills us with satisfaction to be here supporting the communities and enjoying delicious Mexican food. We are grateful for the support and assistance of our director Anabel Rodríguez and all the people who make this event possible.”

Maria de los Angeles Cervantes Rocha, from the Refugio de los Sauces community, shared a few words on behalf of the participants and said, “A party without mole is not a party. We are proud to share our moles, each with its own style, and we are grateful that we have been invited. We hope to continue participating in future events to continue showing our culinary traditions.”

“Traditions are like the roots of a tree that are nourished by our land. If we manage to have our new generations grow with these roots, they will be like those big and strong trees capable of achieving any dream, always preserving their Mexican identity”, said the general director of Guanajuato Puerto Interior, Hector Lopez Santillana, who closed the event with a message focused on the importance of traditions and their role in strengthening family roots.
