The gastronomy of Guanajuato -historical cuisine that has managed to remain present over time and that shows, with vitality, elements that come from various historical moments- will delight demanding palates at “Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomic” (VNG), from October 11 to 18.

This year, VNG celebrates its 16th edition -under the motto “The only constant is change”- with traditional chefs and cooks from the State of Guanajuato, who – in recent years – have surprised the attendees with authentic dishes in this gastronomic event which takes place in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, with Consuelo Elipe and Carlos Elizondo, organizers of the event, noted that the gastronomy of Guanajuato is Intangible Cultural Heritage, declared and published, in 2018, in the Official Newspaper of Guanajuato.

“VNG exalts this great intangible heritage that we have. At these events, we seek to share our dishes and ingredients with the great talent of renowned Chefs and new talents so that new trends and traditional cuisine are maintained and exalted because that is where our roots and pride lie,” said the Secretary of Tourism.

The traditional chefs of Guanajuato will share a program together with a constellation of chefs, the most innovative mixologists in Mexico, Latin America and Europe, Michelin Stars, 50 Best and Top Chef.

“Guanajuato has been an ally, in this synergy with Carlos and Consuelo, so that it is possible to penetrate markets and show the benefits of the destination; the challenge we all have is to impact our economies locally and make regions more dynamic, with more tourism products and for tourists to spend more time overnight”, said Alvarez.

During 8 days, attendees will discover flavors, culinary creativity, meet the world’s best chefs, participate in live demonstrations of cutting-edge culinary techniques taught by renowned internationally renowned chefs, and inspiring lectures and fascinating conversations led by experts in the gastronomic industry.

The 2024 edition “will be exceptional for the gastronomy of Guanajuato in spectacular settings in Jalisco and Nayarit. Our cuisine is one of our great attractions,” said Alvarez Brunel.
