The relationship of the two states opens up new opportunities in economic, business, tourism and regional security matters.

“Guanajuato and San Luis Potosi share much more than a border: they share challenges, opportunities and a collaborative relationship that translates into well-being for their people,” said Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
Libia Dennise was at the inauguration of the National Potosina Fair (FENAPO) 2026, where Guanajuato participates as Guest of Honor State.
“We not only share the border of our states; we have managed to work as a team for our people, and that is worthy of recognition,” said the Governor, who thanked the Governor of San Luis Potosi, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, for the invitation.
Libia Dennise noted that this relationship of both governments has strengthened coordination to build peace, prosperity and development, as well as opening new possibilities for tourism, cultural, economic and business cooperation.
Guanajuato’s presence at FENAPO continues the exchange that began in January, when San Luis Potosi participated as a guest of honor at the 2026 State Fair of Leon.
“Guanajuato and San Luis are sister states that are working hard and that recognize our fairs as points of identity and community coexistence,” the Governor said.
As part of this participation, the Marca Guanajuato Pavilion brings together 22 Guanajuatense companies:
- 8 of agro-food
- 5 of handicrafts
- 6 of leather-footwear
- 2 of the textile sector
- 1 of developing industries
- With an investment of 1.5 million pesos
Visitors will be able to find:
- Leather goods, boots, belts, hats, handicrafts, wines, tequila, cheese, traditional sweets and bread from Acambaro, as well as learn about the tourist offer of Guanajuato.
“Today we have high-quality products here, endorsed by Marca Guanajuato, which speak of the innovation and talent of our people,” said Libia Dennise.
Governor Ricardo Gallardo acknowledged the close relationship of both states and welcomed the producers, artisans, and cultural representatives of Guanajuato.
The FENAPO is held from August 7th to the 30th and is one of the Mexico’s main tourism and economic showcases. This year, attendance is estimated at over 9 million visitors, generating an economic impact of 6.5 billion pesos.
“We hope to leave a mark on the heart of San Luis Potosi with the presence of Guanajuato, the cradle of National Independence,” the Governor said.
