The Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the ceremony of the first official flight of the Halcon II plane, a 100 percent Mexican aircraft made in Guanajuato territory by Horizontec.
“With the Halcon II, aerospace manufacturing is consolidated, to which we are betting heavily because Guanajuato will become the new epicenter of the country’s aerospace industry”, said the State President.
The Governor highlighted that with this project, Guanajuato is already a benchmark in the manufacture of aircraft in Mexico and Celaya will be the promoter of this great project.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that it is a source of pride to be with the investors and directors of Horizontec, in this first flight of the aircraft.
“Thanks to Giovanni Angelucci, President of Horizontec, for trusting in Guanajuato to develop this project, which we will continue to support from the State Government,” said the Governor.
“Horizontec is an example of how the path of innovation, of trust in the talent and capacity of the people of Guanajuato, of teamwork with the authorities, generates good results”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Horizontec created a first experimental aircraft, the Halcon I, which currently has all the certifications.
Now they are launching their first commercial product: the Halcon II, a light two-seater aircraft, its missions are pilot training, recreational flight and aerial surveillance.
The Governor said that this first flight of the Halcon II generates optimism and confidence that in Guanajuato the Valley of Mindfacture is being consolidated.
The President of Horizontec, Giovanni Angelucci, after thanking the support of the State authorities to carry out this Halcon II project, recognized the talent and skills of Guanajuato’s human capital, since engineers and technicians from Guanajuato participated in its design and production.
With this project, Guanajuato is in the vanguard of manufacturing of aircraft in Mexico for the world, said the Governor.
