Thirteen Guanajuatense companies of the leather, footwear and supply sectors are ready to take the next step in their internationalization process and open new business opportunities in Central America.

As part of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s vision to promote the growth of micro, small and medium-size enterprises and bring them closer to new markets, the Secretary of Economy and the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE) carried out the 3rd SME Business Challenge, a strategy of the last stage of the Export Without Borders program, which seeks to strengthen the capabilities and prepare Guanajuatense companies to compete successfully in international scenarios.

The 13 participating companies presented their business proposals to a panel made up of businesspeople, specialists and leaders of the productive sector, who evaluated aspects such as competitiveness, differentiation, supply capacity, commercial strategy and export potential.

The goal is for companies to arrive strengthened at Showroom Guatemala 2026, a business gathering that will take place on June 18 in Guatemala City and with the purpose to directly link Guanajuatense companies with previously identified buyers, including store chains, footwear manufacturers, supply distributors, marketers and specialized boutiques.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, emphasized that “in Guanajuato, we are convinced that our MSMEs have the talent, quality, and capacity to compete in any market in the world. That is why we support them in their preparation, strengthen their capabilities, and open new opportunities for them to take their products beyond our borders and generate growth for their businesses.”

The General Director of COFOCE, Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, said that “today we conclude a very important stage: the final phase of Export Without Borders, a program that seeks to strengthen the capabilities and competitiveness of Guanajuatense companies so that they are better prepared to enter international markets. What we experienced today was not only an evaluation, but also an opportunity to learn, refine strategies, and prepare to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by Showroom Guatemala 2026.”

The companies that will represent Guanajuato in this commercial strategy are:
- Newline, Vermont, Lobo Solo, Hebimex, Calzado Relax, HABACUK, Calzado Zulit Itzauup, Ragaza Company, Calzado Spook, Pieles y Forros Chema Padilla, Custom Style, Calzado Guettor and Orix Grabados, from Leon and San Francisco del Rincon

The People’s Government promotes the internationalization of Guanajuatense companies, strengthening their competitiveness, promoting market diversification, and generating more growth opportunities for families in the State.
