With the participation of 52 upper secondary and higher level students, the first edition of the Worldskills Mexico Competition Guanajuato 2022 began at Poliforum Leon, which is carried out by JuventudEsGTO in alliance with the Mexican Skills Association. AC Junior Professionals (AMPROJ) and Worldskills International.
Youth engage in 10 skills including:
- Network Administration, Mobile Application Development, Mechanical Design, Optoelectronics, Mobile Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Welding, Cooking, and Healthcare
“When we talk about investment, it is something that in the future is going to leave you with something more important and that is where everything that is happening in Guanajuato comes in with the young; each and every one of you today become the central axis of public policy on youth,” said Antonio Navarro, general director of JuventudEsGTO.
Navarro added that, with the creation of the Institute for the Development and Care of Youth of the State of Guanajuato, the only one in the country, and by instruction of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, young people from Guanajuato are served in four axes:
- Health, education, economic development and human rights
“It is an event to remember and reaffirm that we live in a world in which we are always going to compete and everything has to do with competitiveness; today the easy paths are not going to take us anywhere, the only path we know in Guanajuato is work, the effort to get ahead,” said Ramon Alfaro Gomez, head of the Secretary for Sustainable Economic Development.
For the first time, Guanajuato is host of this competition, in which the 20 best experts will be chosen to represent Guanajuato in the international fair, to be held in various venues such as:
- Canada, France, Japan, Switzerland and Chile
Worldskills Mexico Competition Guanajuato 2022 occurs September 19 and 20 at Poliforum Leon, with young participants from 17 schools and 14 municipalities in Guanajuato, in addition to 19 experts in the 10 skills.
