Government of the People, Coppel Foundation, FUNDES and ASKHA Mexico sign a collaboration agreement to promote “Coppel Emprende” and launch the “Capital Semilla Guanajuato 2026” call for proposals

Leon/Gto News

With the purpose of strengthening business capabilities and generating better conditions for the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the State Government, through the Secretary of Economy, formalized the collaboration of Fundacion Coppel, FUNDES and ASKHA Mexico, to promote the “Coppel Emprende” project and present the “Capital Semilla Guanajuato 2026” call for proposals.

This initiative involves a joint investment of one million pesos, contributed by the Secretary of Economy and the Coppel Foundation, which will be allocated to the operation of the project and the provision of in-kind support.

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, promotes alliances that bring training tools, support and productive equipment closer to entrepreneurs and business owners, thus strengthening the growth of economic units and the economy of Guanajuatense families.

In this context, the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, highlighted that this collaboration represents an opportunity to expand access to business training and provide support that contributes to strengthening businesses.

“In the People’s Government, we understand that strengthening MSMEs is strengthening our State’s economy. With ‘Coppel Emprende’ and ‘Capital Semilla Guanajuato 2026,’ we provide free training, tools, and support that contribute to improve productivity, strengthen services, and generate greater growth opportunities for our entrepreneurs and business owners,” said Villasenor.

Through the platform coppelemprende.com/guanajuato, entrepreneurs and business owners can access over 100 free training lessons of varying lengths, available 24/7. They will also have the opportunity to participate in live webinars and become part of a continuous learning community.

These training programs will be available throughout the State administration, allowing more entrepreneurs and business owners in Guanajuato to strengthen their knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.

As part of the “Capital Semilla Guanajuato 2026” initiative, the aim is to benefit at least 100 Guanajuatense economic units through in-kind support of up to 8,000 pesos, intended for the acquisition of equipment, work tools and, in specific cases, raw materials.

To request this support, entrepreneurs must prove they have completed at least 41 lessons or more from those available on the “Coppel Emprende” platform.

The project will be executed by Askha Mexico, with the support of FUNDES and the Secretary of Economy, under a public-private collaboration model that seeks to expand access to business training and strengthen the permanence and growth of Guanajuatense businesses.

FUNDES has over 40 years of experience developing solutions for SMEs. Its work has been implemented in more than 24 countries, with over 600 projects executed in collaboration with more than 300 clients and partners, and a network of over 200 specialists.

This alliance aligns with Guanajuato SUMA’s vision, the State’s new economic policy, which puts people at the center and strengthens the conditions for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to grow, innovate, generate employment and contribute to the development of their communities.
