Governor reinforces security in Irapuato

Governor Libia Dennise inaugurated the Citizen Security complex and attended the Proximity Police Graduation in Irapuato

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the inauguration ceremony of the new Citizen Security Secretariat Complex in Irapuato, which strengthens the capabilities to protect Irapuato families, with an investment of 241 million pesos of State origin; and witnessed the graduation of 39 Proximity Police and 14 Traffic Agents.

The new complex was designed to provide better operating conditions, coordination, and citizen services; the project involved a State investment of 241.9 million pesos and an intervention area exceeding 60,000 square meters, including an administrative building, access booth, watchtower, parking lots, walkways, green areas, and strategic spaces for police operations.

“Irapuato continues to move forward with firm steps in one of the most important tasks as an authority, the protection and building of peace for our society and our families,” explained Libia Dennise.

In the event they presented the graduation of:

• The 50th Generation of the Initial Training Course for Proximity Police
• The 7th Generation of Traffic Agents
• 39 new proximity police officers graduated, 13 men and 26 women
• 14 traffic agents, 11 men and 3 women
• This is the largest generation that has graduated from the municipal academy

The Governor mentioned the results in security with the 66% reduction in intentional homicides, compared to the highest peak in February 2025.

Present in this event were Lorena Alfaro Garcia, Mayor of Irapuato and Security and Civil municipal, State and Federal Authorities.
