Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, inaugurated the Recharged2 Robot Battle tournament, an event in which the skills of young people from Guanajuato are exhibited, so that they can experience an evolution of the application of knowledge in robotics, acquired during their training.
“In Guanajuato, our youth have the vision of reaching the future. Today, they want to design the cars of the future, they want to design the robots of the future and the applications of the future, and this change is the greatest legacy of this Government. Going from manufacture to Mindfacture has been one of the achievements and quantum leaps that Guanajuato will make and is consolidating day by day,” said the Governor.
The Recharged2 Robot Battle is an event in which robot battles take place, where participants who obtained their GTO Combat Robot kit compete to advance to the final.
The tournament presents:
- 21 junior high school teams, 14-pound category
- 21 high school teams, 14-pound category
- 30 college teams, 23-pound and 120-pound categories
- In total, 72 teams from 22 municipalities are taking part
The first place in each category will be awarded with a trip to South Korea.
“Young Guanajuatenses, do not stop fighting for what you want, do not stop fighting for your country and continue to hold up the name of Guanajuato”, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo in his inaugural address.
This tournament will take place from September 17 to 20 at the Fair’s Entertainment Center, where 12,000 spectators are expected to attend throughout the event.
To participate, each team must have a robot prototype as well as a certification from the course “The importance of Artificial Intelligence and soft skills” taught by the IECA.
Guanajuato students have distinguished themselves for their constant participation in robotics tournaments, both national and international, winning first positions and highlighting their knowledge and skills.
Guanajuato ranks 5th in the country with the highest number of engineering students and 6th with the highest number of graduates from engineering. It also ranks 5th with the highest number of female engineering graduates. This action reaffirms the commitment to promote vocations related to Mindfacture.
The development of combat robots involves a wide variety of knowledge in disciplines such as:
- Mechanical Engineering for the Design of Structures; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Software Engineering and Programming; and Mechatronics
