The gastronomy and mixology of Guanajuato conquered the palates of Sommeliers, Mixologists, Chefs with Michelin Stars and 50 Best, Celebrity Chefs, Top Chefs, State Ambassador Chefs, and Gastronomy students, on the 14th. edition of the “Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica” (VNG) with the motto “Sustainability”.
Personalities such as Roberto Morales, better known as Robegrill, and Dominique Crenn, the first female chef in America to be awarded three Michelin stars, tasted the State’s flavors at the “Guanajuato Si Sabe” stand.
For the sixth year, Guanajuato -Official Guest State of the event “Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica”- celebrates and shares gastronomy, one of the most important segments that attracts tourism to Guanajuato destinations, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, during the inauguration at the Sheraton Buganvilias headquarters hotel.
Accompanied by Carlos Elizondo Ramos and Consuelo Elipe Ramos, directors of VNG, Juan Jose Alvarez highlighted that gastronomy has attracted more than 30% of visitors to Guanajuato.
In “Guanajuato we have it clear that gastronomy is a great axis that brings together various tourist activities. Gastronomy, a great attraction for visitors, transmits our culture and traditions, highlighting the attributes of each of the 46 Guanajuato municipalities,” said the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
This year, the gastronomy and mixology of Guanajuato is represented by Chef David Quevedo, current world Tapas champion in Valladolid, Spain, and Luis Enrique Yanez Castaneda, current state champion of Pinchos and Tapas “Guanajuato Si Sabe”. Also, wines from Guanajuato were present at VNG.
In this edition, sustainability has great prominence with the main world organizations talking about vital issues for the planet.
Álvarez Brunel highlighted that Guanajuato observes sustainable actions in destinations and in tourist events through the Guanajuato Sustainable Tourism Distinction that has promoted the SECTUR Tourism Sustainability Model, with the purpose of offering what is necessary for the organization of sustainable events.
Guanajuato is a great reference in the gastronomic industry and works hand in hand with other participants so that Tourism in Mexico continues to recover, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel.
