“In less than two years, more than 52 percent of the six-year investment attraction goal has already been achieved. Sixty-one projects have been finalized, representing more than $4.184 billion and the creation of over 15,000 jobs for Guanajuatenses,” said the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
The Governor led the ceremony announcing a new investment of 86 million dollars by Grupo Ferrero in its San Jose Iturbide Plant.
“Today we are delighted to receive the news of this new investment, which has very clear objectives: to expand its production capacity and thereby increase its exports; and to guarantee the energy supply for its development. And behind this investment is a great vision for the future from the Ferrero Group,” said Libia Dennise.
“It is an honor to join the executives of this great Italian company, the Ferrero Group, in this important announcement. Ferrero is not only a world-leading company, but also an organization that has built a global reputation based on innovation, excellence, the quality of its products, and above all, a deep sense of responsibility towards the people and communities where it operates,” said the Governor.
Libia Dennise emphasized that today marks the celebration of a relationship of trust between Ferrero and Guanajuato, a relationship that has strengthened over the years. This company distinguishes itself by always being one step ahead, with innovation, sustainability, productivity, and quality.
“And Ferrero has demonstrated, for many years, that it is possible to grow, innovate and compete globally without losing sight of people. These are values that we share with Ferrero in the People’s Government, which unite us in a common purpose: to always put human beings at the center of our decisions,” he added.
The Governor thanked Paolo Cornero, President and CEO of Ferrero Mexico and Central America, for his hard work and determination in driving the growth of this plant. She also recognized the Italian Ambassador to Mexico, Alessandro Modiano, for being “a great promoter of the relationship between our countries and for ensuring that today Italy and Guanajuato are closer than ever.”
Italy is now our fifth largest investing partner in the State. From 2006 to the present, Guanajuato has registered 32 projects of Italian origin, with an investment of $2.155 billion and the creation of more than 7,800 direct jobs, he added.
“When a global company like Ferrero decides to continue growing here, it is sending a very important message to the world. It is saying that Guanajuato is a place to invest in; that it has the conditions to compete,” said Libia Dennise.
Libia Dennise reiterated her gratitude to Ferrero’s management for their commitment to Guanajuato talent and for continuing to write this story of shared growth. Furthermore, they support children in Guanajuato through the Joy of Moving program, an initiative that promotes physical activity, holistic development, and the formation of healthy habits.
