Strengthening social sports, keeping Guanajuato in the first places in national sports and reinvigorating high performance programs, are the challenges that Christian Enriquez Hernandez takes on as the new General Director of the Sports Commission of the State of Guanajuato.
Enriquez Hernandez was appointed by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, to take the reins of the sports in Guanajuato, replacing Marco Heroldo Gaxiola Romo, who announced his separation from the position to pursue his personal projects.
During his first tour of the offices in Guanajuato City and Leon, he held meetings with the management team and staff from different areas; he pointed out CODE as a solid institution with a clear line of work that has allowed it to position itself in the first places in sports in Mexico.
For this reason, Enriquez considered it a priority to keep Guanajuato at the forefront of the National Competition System, where they achieved 5th place in the CONADE National Games and 4th in Paranationals in the current six-year term; and as the support of high performance in the country with the training and preparation of athletes who stand out in national and international events.
Enriquez gave a special place to social sports, “we need to reach more Guanajuato residents every day with this message of health and well-being through physical activation and sports.”
Enriquez Hernandez takes the reins of CODE after having served as Councilor of the Irapuato City Council where he was part of the Sports Commission; trench that enabled him to learn about the public administration specialized in the subject as well as its problems.
He also knows the sport from his practice, he was a member of the Basic Forces of Trinca Fresera and a tennis and paddle tennis player.
In the private sector he has served as general director in different companies with academic training in business administration and accounting.
