The company HEBIMEX opens its path to direct exporting after participating in the Export Without Borders program and the Guatemala Showroom promoted by COFOCE

Just a few months ago, HEBIMEX was a company with great international potential, though it wasn’t fully aware of it. Its hardware, buckles, and metal accessories were already being exported from Mexico, integrated into shoes, belts, and leather goods that reached markets like the United States, both directly and indirectly.

It all began when Juan Carlos Cadena Urrutia, director of HEBIMEX, came to COFOCE on the recommendation of a friend. The company, which has specialized for more than two decades in the design and manufacture of buckles, shoe hardware, belts, and zamac metal parts, was one of the companies recently incorporated into COFOCE ‘s internationalization ecosystem during April and May of this year.

Their first step was to participate in the training sessions of the Export Without Borders program, where they strengthened their strategy to enter international markets directly.
That knowledge soon found an opportunity and thanks to the support of COFOCE, HEBIMEX participated in the Guatemala Showroom, a trade mission that allowed the company to learn firsthand about the needs of the market, present its value proposition, and establish business meetings with potential buyers.

The result was immediate. During the trade meeting, the hardware manufactured by the Guanajuato-based company was well-received by Guatemalan buyers, generating new business contacts and real opportunities that have now led to the next step: the company is in the process of finalizing its first direct export order to Guatemala.

“Recently, thanks to COFOCE, we are opening doors to exporting to Guatemala; just two weeks ago there was a COFOCE exhibition in Guatemala, we were invited, we had an export course and an order has already arrived from a new client and it was all thanks to this trip we had with COFOCE to Guatemala, I am very grateful to the government of Guanajuato for the help and for the follow-up,” said Cadena.

With over 20 years of experience, HEBIMEX has built a solid reputation in the development of buckles, hardware and metal accessories for the footwear and leather goods industry, standing out for its ability to design new models.
Currently, the company generates 14 direct jobs and is run by two brothers who have opted for innovation, speed in decision-making and internationalization as part of their growth.

COFOCE promotes a comprehensive support providing training, business connections, and tools to help more companies transform their potential into concrete businesses around the world.
